Meerut. Pyare Lal Sharma isn’t with us today, but the memorial, Hospital and road are keeping his memory alive. Pyare Lal Sharma was not only a well-known advocate in Meerut, he was also a freedom fighter. In 1920, when Mahatma Gandhi announced the freedom development from Meerut college, Pyare Lal Sharma also had a major contribution in it. Not just this, he also stood up as a Congress leader. He is a retired professor of History, Meerut College. Dr. K.D Sharma told at that time Sitaram was remaining Was standing in the behalf of the British. It is in 1936, Pyare Lal Sharma get won against Sitaram with huge votes in the election. Then, at that point, he got the post of Education Minister of UP. After The Second World War, when all the Congress leaders had surrendered against the British Government, and resigned Pyare Lal had also resigned that time Advocate Pyarelal Sharma has contributed fundamentally in the development of Meerut and in the struggle freedom. He died in 1944. After his passing away, Jawaharlal Nehru also came to Meerut in the Congress meeting held in his name in 1946. Around then the District Medical clinic Hopital was known by his name in Meerut District which is Pyare Lal Sharma Distric Hospital. The Congress meeting was held close to Victoria Park in Saket, so a Congress camp was set up in Meerut in its name. From that road was also named PL Sharma Road. The Hospital and road is memorable.
